The history of the Keukenhof Flower Show dates back to 1949, when the mayor of Lisse and ten leading bulb growers decided to establish an annual open-air flower exhibition. However, the gardens themselves were originally designed in 1840 by two landscape architects.
At Keukenhof, you can explore a stunning park filled with vibrant flower fields, heather gardens, cascading water features, serene ponds, fountains, and lush trees. With some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Netherlands, it’s a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Enjoy the unique flower parade of the flower bulb region, where colorful floats adorned with bulb flowers will pass by. Unlike previous years, the 2024 Flower Parade does not have a specific theme, allowing participants greater creative freedom in their decorations.
The 77th edition of the Flower Parade will travel a 40 km route from Noordwijk to Haarlem on Saturday, April 20. The parade is expected to pass Keukenhof’s main entrance via the main car park at approximately 3:30 PM. Please note that heavy traffic and road closures around Keukenhof are expected from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM on this day.
After a day filled with flowers and festivities, you will depart for home.
