We’re kicking things off by diving into the Earth’s fiery past, taking a well-earned break, and then heading into the treetops for an adrenaline-filled adventure.
🔥🧗 Volcano Experience & High Ropes Challenge
Start your day at the Lava Dome Museum, where volcanoes come to life through interactive exhibits and immersive displays. This isn’t your typical museum—explore a 700 m² experience filled with vibrant visuals, hands-on activities, and fascinating insights into volcanic power.
Discover what lies beneath the surface as you look into Mendig’s underground world using a periscope. Even though the last eruption in the Eifel region was nearly 13,000 years ago, you’ll see that volcanic activity still shapes the area today.
After the museum, enjoy a lunch break at Vulkan Brauerei (not included)—a local craft brewery where you can relax, recharge, and enjoy great food and freshly brewed beer.
In the afternoon, get ready for action at an outdoor ropes course. After a safety briefing, take on up to 90 different challenges, with obstacles reaching heights of up to 18 meters. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced climber, there are routes for every level.
Pro tip: Bring gloves for better grip (or purchase them on-site). You can also bring your own bicycle helmet or borrow one at the climbing center.
