Personal Financial Readiness
Personal Financial Readiness (PFR) – Offers information, education, and personal counseling, especially during critical touchpoints in the member’s military life cycle. These touchpoints include: First Duty Station, PCS, Retirement Planning Starter, Pre/Post Deployment, Marriage, Divorce, Birth of First Child, Promotion and Transition. The M&FRC has Certified Financial Counselors and a Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) who are available to assist with your financial counseling needs.

Relocation Assistance

Relocation Assistance – Provides information and services to relocating personnel and their families to lessen the stress of moving. Loan Closet available for temporary use of household items. Transition Assistance Program (TAP)

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is a congressionally mandated program for all separating and retiring service members across the DoD. TAP services should be made available to all eligible service member and their spouses (space limited), commencing NLT 18-14 month prior to anticipated separation or 24 months prior to anticipated retirement. There are four mandatory steps in the process. Steps 1 and 2 should be completed no later than 365 days prior to your anticipated date of separation/retirement; however please reach out regardless of your timeframe for personalized assistance. Your assigned transition counselor will guide you through each step of the process. Step 1: Initial Counseling (IC) Appointment Step 2: Pre-separation Counseling Step 3: TAP Workshop (3 days) and 2-Day Tracks (as required by Tier level) Step 4: Capstone Appointment Please call the M&FRC at DSN 452-6422 or COMM 06565-61-6422 to sign up.

Air Force Aid Society is a non-profit, charity that helps in emergencies to meet the basic needs of eligible individuals and families, though interest-free loans and grants.

Air Force Families Forever

Air Force Families Forever provides proactive outreach to family members who have lost an Active Duty loved one. Services include immediate and long-term bereavement care, support, and connection through various installation events.

Casualty Assistance Rep (CAR)

Air Force Families Forever provides Casualty Assistance to military and family members. Training is also regularly conducted for Casualty Notification Officers.

EFMP- Family Support

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide a comprehensive, coordinated, multi-agency approach for community support, housing, medical, educational, and personnel services to families with special needs.

Information and referral are the heart of everything we do at the M&FRC. We will answer your questions or provide the service you need. If we can’t do that, we will connect you with other resources. Our Discovery Resource Center has computers available for email, online research and shopping, job-search, resume and cover letter writing, and more.

Military & Family Life Consultants (MFLC)

Military Family Life Consultants provide in-person, telephone and/or video non-medical counseling to address issues related to anger management, conflict resolution, parenting, parent/child communication, relationship issues, and marriage enrichment; the military lifestyle, including deployment stress, reintegration, relocation adjustment, separation, coping skills, homesickness, and loss and grief. Spangdahlem has 3 adult MFLCS ready to support you! We have two local MFLCs who offers in-person, telephonic, and virtual (Zoom) appointments Monday-Friday, between the hours of 0800-1700:

Spangdahlem Installation Voter Assistance Program

The Spangdahlem Installation Voting Assistance (IVA) office provides our overseas military members and families with information on voter registration and absentee ballot procedures. Hard-copy Federal Post Card Applications (FPCA SF 76) are available for pick-up at your IVA office, building 307, collocated with the Military and Family Readiness Center. Your Installation Voting Assistance Officer (IVAO) can also be reached at DSN: 452-6422 or Commercial: 06565 61 6422 or by emailing vote.spangdahlem@us.af.mil for any questions or concerns you have regarding your voting options. In addition, we suggest you visit the Air Force Personnel Center Voting Program site to learn more about how the Department of the Air Force Voting Assistance Program (AFVAP) supports Airmen, Guardians, eligible family members and overseas citizens by providing resources to successfully vote from anywhere in the world. The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) works to ensure service members, their eligible family members, and overseas citizens are aware of their right to vote and have the tools and resources to successfully do so – from anywhere around the world.
