Join ITT for a special visit with Alfons Sebastiani, an honorary commander of Spangdahlem Air Base. Mr. Sebastiani and his family have long-standing ties to the Air Force and are annual supporters of the base bazaar.

Their family-owned winery, located in Mehring in the Middle Mosel/Bernkastell region, sits on southern-facing slopes—one of the best areas in Germany for producing elegant wines. The Sebastiani family grows their own grapes, produces their own wine, and bottles and sells it directly at their vineyard. They place great value on traditional winemaking, allowing each wine to develop naturally and individually.

The evening begins with a warm German meal featuring:

• Mixed garden salad with dressing

• Stuffed pork roast (Spiessbraten)

• Cream and cheese potato casserole (Au Gratin)

• Fresh German bread

Dinner will be followed by a guided tasting of a variety of Mosel wines.

German wine history dates back to around 100 B.C., when ancient Romans settled in the region and began cultivating grapes. Today, wines from the Mosel and its tributaries—the Saar and the Ruwer—are known for being fragrant, pale, light-bodied, and full of lively, fruity acidity.

Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase their favorite wines to enjoy at home or with friends.
