We will start the excursion with a hike of approximately 4 miles. The hike takes you to numerous evidence of Bad Bertrich’s explosive past. Nine volcanoes were active here around 50,000 years ago and shaped the region with interesting geological formations. Get to know the history of the earth in a very special way and enjoy breathtaking views at the same time. The path has a climb of 270 meters. One of the highlights of the trip is the mash spring where soothing refreshments await you. You can bring a sandwich for a quick picknick there. After the hike the escort will lead you to the thermal pool where you can have lunch at the restaurant and relax in the healing water or enjoy one of the several saunas.
The traditional health resort of Bad Bertrich is idyllically nestled between the Moselle and the Vulkaneifel in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel. Almost 2,000 years ago, the Romans first tapped the Bad Bertrich mountain spring in the center of the small town, from which naturally warm healing water has been gushing ever since. The only Glauber’s salt thermal spring in Germany emerges from a depth of two kilometers to the surface at a temperature of 32°C. Numerous offers for feeling good and getting healthy have been established around the beneficial effects of thermal water, which can also be consummed.
Please don’t forget to bring your swim gear, bathrobe and towel.
