Llama Trekking – Fun for the entire Family
We will start the day with a visit of Germany’s biggest camel farm. You will get a glimpse into the world of llamas, alpacas, bactrian camels and dromedaries. The owner of this place will give you some information about the keeping and the usefulness of llamas. After this short introduction you will have the opportunity to experience the animals in the fields. Then the llamas will get groomed and saddled with panniers. Now we will go for a walk with the llamas for approximately one hour around the valley. The hike is not suitable for strollers.
After the little hike a buffet of finger food is waiting for you.
Visit the Niederwald Monument (German Statue of Liberty)
The bus will take you for a fotostop to the Niederwald Monument for an up-close look at Kaiser Wilhelm I among soldiers, carved into a relief, beneath a 10m-tall (34ft) Germania figure. The statue was built between 1870-1880 to commemorate the unification of the German Empire after the Franco-Prussian War. It’s flanked by vineyards and sits atop a vantage point at Niederwald Park, so the peaceful setting alone is worth a visit to the monument.
Ruedesheim
Ruedesheim am Rhein is one of the most beautiful villages in Germany – 3 million visitors flock here a year. Stroll among the half-timbered buildings of the old town and marvel at the picturesque Drosselgasse (Instagram hot spot), at the heart of the old town. Drosselgasse is a 144m (472ft) cobbled street lined with timber-framed buildings. It might be old world in architecture, but, here, you’ll find some of the best entertainment venues in the city, from live music in taverns to restaurants serving regional dishes. Some other nice sights you should not miss while in Ruedesheim are: Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet, Broemserburg Castle, Kunkardshof and Breuer’s Ruedesheimer Schloss.
