A ferry takes you from the island of Fehmarn to Denmark. On your way to Copenhagen you will experience the island of Falster with its harsh landscape, the over 1700m long Farö Bridge and Zealand, the largest island in the Kingdom of Denmark. Copenhagen is the seat of the government, parliament and residence of the royal family.
The Danish capital will delight you on a city tour with its magnificent buildings, beautiful squares, countless churches and the Little Mermaid. Several castles are located directly in the city center, such as Amalienborg with the impressive castle square and the changing of the guard. Also worth seeing is the inner-city water arm Nyhavn, which has an almost southern flair in summer. There are countless small restaurants in the adjacent colorful gabled houses, where you can also sit outside and enjoy the view of the water and boats. In the afternoon, take a harbor canal cruise to see Copenhagen from a different perspective. In the evening it is worth visiting the famous Tivoli amusement park.
During your free time you can take a train (approximately €14 per person one way) which will take you in approximately 40 minutes to Malmoe (Sweden). In Malmoe you can visit castle Malmoehus, which is Sweden’s oldest surviving Renaissance castle that tells Malmö’s story with furniture, pictures and words. It is part of a museum complex that also includes a submarine and an aquarium. At Möllevångstorget you can see and taste that Malmoe offers a new home to people from over 170 countries.
In Rödby you take the ferry again, which takes you back to Puttgarden on the island of Fehmarn. Your route now leads back home through northern Germany.
